Radio Art
Over the past few years I’ve been producing an hour-long piece of environmental sound art each month. These have been broadcast on CAMP Listen, an internet radio station. They have also been distributed as a podcast, available on major platforms such as Apple Music. I have produced more than 60 shows so far, under the title Sound mosaics for a broken world. The title reflects the process of creating these pieces, through sound collage.
I also contributed to the largest ever festival of radio art, Radio Art Zone. This was a 100-day radio art station created as part of the European Capital of Culture in Esch, 2022. The project was developed by Mobile Radio and jointly produced with Radio ARA, and broadcast in the south of Luxembourg. Additionally it was live-streamed, and transmitted by a worldwide network of partner stations, reaching upwards of a quarter of a million listeners. Each contribution to the festival was a 22-hour long piece. I assisted David Buckland of Cape Farewell, who was commissioned to create RiverRun, a piece focusing on the chalk rivers of Dorset. The piece is archived here.
